    Sharon MichaelsBellaOnline's Abundance / Wealth EditorSecrets of Six-Figure Women – A Review
Why are women still underpaid? Does self-esteem and earning six-figures go hand-in-hand? Do women place financial limits on themselves? With insight and practical real-world guidance Barbara Stanny helps us discover our inner six-figure woman. Are you ready to find the answers? My copy of Secrets of Six-Figure Women is dog-eared, underlined, written in the margins and covered with sticky notes. I’ve used it in the question and answer portion of my seminars and have recommended it as a group read for leaders.

Let me ask you: Are you earning and saving for the lifestyle you want to be consistently living and enjoying? In her book Barbara Stanny provides us with these facts:1. It’s estimated that one out of every three workers is an underearner, most of them women.2. Hefty incomes don’t guarantee a happy life, or even peace of mind. 3. No matter how difficult your circumstances or how discouraged you feel, climbing the salary scale is entirely within your grasp.4. Underearning is not to be confused with voluntary simplicity, a conscious choice to live with less.I believe one of the most important exercises in this book is the value-clarification exercise. I’ve learned from my own personal experiences that I will not succeed at anything that goes against my true core values. Your values fuel your motivation to succeed and earn. It’s well worth taking the time to work and study the results of this activity.Do you think that living the lifestyle of your choice, making the money you deserve and enjoying life is based on something deeper than just making money? Isn’t it really about feeling worthy and deserving of making six figures? Isn’t it about making money while nurturing healthy self-esteem?Earning six-figures has nothing to do with age, education or luck. It does have everything to do with your desire to live a healthy, happy and financially satisfying life. Are you ready to earn your six-figure (and even seven-figure) income? Are you ready to stop underearning and to begin living up to your full earning potential? I highly recommend Secrets of Six-Figure Women. I’ve personally seen it become a life changing eye opener for women who are tired of surviving and are ready to begin thriving in their financial life. Here is what we are going to do on the Abundance and Wealth forum. For twelve weeks beginning on Saturday, November 1, 2008 I’ll pose a discussion question on the Abundance and Wealth forum. Each question will reinforce the important points of the book. We’ll be focusing on and reinforcing the traits of six-figure women. Let’s plan on discussing the book and learning from one another.

  • Jack Canfield - The Success Principles and the "Chicken Soup For the Soul" series

  • Richard Templar - "The Rules" series (The Rules of Work, The Rules of Management, The Rules of Life etc)

  • Gary Chapman - The Five Love Languages

  • Rich dad poor dad

  • Andrew Mattews: Follow your heart

  • Happiness nowAnd this book kinda stupid but i still like it, TOWKAY HO SEY BO. Its written with abit of hokkien & chinese.

  • Before you read any of those, go and pick out this book by James Allen. As a Man Thinketh. That's all you need to start, really. You will know without a doubt that your LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS. No luck. No fate. No nothing. Very simple. It just lets you know in no uncertain terms that there are no excuses. Either you do or don't. Life is a choice. It is written some time ago so the English is old style. Takes some getting used to... but very thin book. Thinnest book I have ever read.AS YOU THINK - SO YOU BECOME.Use your mind. Be the person you dreamt of being.

  • 7 habits of a highly effective person

  • Yes, it's a good read. If you're going for money management, "The Richest Man in Babylon" will be a good 1. However it's written in old English style, so you will have to get use to it. \

tats a good read...it s like readin in the Bible language...but the presented concepts about financial management r timeless...

  • Stephen Covey's latest book The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness (published in 2004) functions as the sequel to The Seven Habits. Covey claims that effectiveness does not suffice in what he calls "The Knowledge Worker Age". He proclaims that "[t]he challenges and complexity we face today are of a different order of magnitude." The 8th habit essentially urges: "Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs..."

  • Who moved my cheese is Good! esp for those who are lost in career and thinking which direction to go.

  • some book about positive thinking, a positive state of mind would be very helpful in daily life.. But u know what i usually do? its called going to the LIBRARY!! the psycology section is right next to the self improvement section, there u can slowly browse through a few books which catches your attention then if u really want to buy that book, just go to a bookstore and purchase it!i find borrowing books are more worth it than buying books, a good book on self improvement costs about $15+, while the same book in a library costs $0..

  • you can try a book called the healing zone by jude berman and alan crisp.is quite a nice book

  • If you like reading self-improvement for the sake of reading it, and under the criteria you are looking for, then simple books like those written by Donald Trump or a more practical book by Adam Khoo's "Master your Mind, Design Your Destiny" can definately help with what u are aiming for

thanks for all the contribution
