Life

My friend told me .. this "one life thing"..we each have only one life.. we should live our life to the fullest.

How many of you out there are living your life to the fullest. With no regrets and happiness to just stay on ..

Recently I been in deep thoughts...   
I have  been taking care of those around me which I have neglected the most important person.. myself.

I do suddenly realise that I should have treated myself better in the past... in terms of emotionally and physically.

My first attempt with chicken chop rice


My first attempt to chicken chop rice.
I wanted to get some chicken thigh but end up sold out. Just getting some breast .. preference with skin.. too bad this is what I can get from changi point cold storage

Its was a success as nicole and hubby love it. 

Only issue if grill pan was burnt before I can add in mushroom. . So have to use alternative pan.

Nicole requested me to make again so have to save this up...

Ingredients

3 deboned chicken meat.

freshly ground black pepper

SEA SALT

3 to 4 Table spoon of worchestershire sauce

virgin olive oil /soya sauce

Two cloves of garlic

Sliced carrot

Sliced potatoes

One medium onion thickly sliced

sliced can of button mushroom

Baked beans

COOKING Method

1. Marinate chicken meat with pepper, salt and worchestershire sauce for about 1hr or more . Add salt to potatoes.

2. Heat up grill pan with olive oil and add garlic, onions, potatoes, carrots and after few mins of frying ..add in the chicken meat and grill the chicken pieces till cooked. Start with the skin side down first

3. Once cooked , remove chicken pieces and put it aside

4.Add mushrooms to the rest of the items.. gentle stiring

5.  Remove carrot and potatoes if grill well. Then add soya sauce and water into the mushroom and mix it well.

6.Arrange chicken piece, bake beans, potatoe carrot and rice  a plate and pour some of the mushroom and sauce/gravy over the chicken.

Serve it hot

Nicole my 8 year old daughter is having issue in making friends and focusing in class. I did goggle to see how much information I can obtain to help her.

★Focus in class lesson
■Do now show temper
■Do not tell people to keep quiet
■Learn to listen through the noise
■Endure all noise
■First few times may not be able to listen to teacher teaching but after some time it will improve.

★How to make more ♥♥ friends ??

●Do not say or comments your friends
●Do not throw temper
●Be nice and friendly
●Listen to your friends and keep all comments to yourself

Her issue now

Question from her : her best friend not talking to her.. she is very upset.

My advise is : I told her she is not able to force anyone to talk to her and be her friend.

Solution for her to attempt to ask her what is the issue. Her friend has refuse to tell her and ask her to stop asking. I have told nicole to approach her and tell her.. if she (nicole) has upset her by saying wrong words she will apologise to her. If still refuse to make up , I have told nicole to get on with her life and she has to accept that she may lost this friend.

I have also told her it is common at her age for her peers to have this kind of " friends - no friends "relationships. No point getting upset. She will have to be more conscious of her thinkinh not to drift to the questioning of why ? What happened ? Nicole will need to refocus her thinking.. I have given her examples like thinking about her Sa1, what she want to do during ☆June holidays etc..

I have consoled to her that after some time the feeling will go away.. mean her sadness ..

THIS is life she has to learn... it also happen to adults. .

I told nicole she had best friends around her.. make a guess what is it ???
Answer : her story books.. she love reading. They will never let her down.
If you have any good advise do comments. We defintely can use one or two extra advise.

Recommendation on chinese physician for sprains

This Chinese physician was recommend by my mother . He is good and reasonable price.  Spend always below 50 sgd. Chinese speaking .. no reservation have to go there queue up.

Fyi I am not associate with the doctor nor have any connection with them. I will not be responsible for any issue.

I just went over as having some pain in my arm and sprain my upper back. Shoulder.. he is good..

Prefer hair stylist in seng kang

I was recommended by hubby to kitty from compasspoint supercut. I have used her a few times and I do like the way she advise on how to style or new image.  The only comments from my sis who I recommend mention that she do not like the hair dye.

Super cut is not cheap. . But having the style of few months is worth. . I spend around 250 to perm my hair..

I do like the new style. .

Another disadvantages is kitty is very busy.. she may be speeding thru but she is very nice and if u ask her something she will advise. Need to reserve.

This is only thru my personal experiences with her. My daughter prefer another guy to cut for her thouhh

Itchy, swollen, dry skin, fluid-filled blisters, a red rash… does this sound familiar? These are the common symptoms of atopic eczema or atopic dermatitis, a skin condition which affects nearly 21 per cent, or one in five people in Singapore.
Atopic eczema is the most common form of eczema, an itchy skin disorder that can occur at any age. It is particularly common in babies and young children and can be caused by a combination of factors including a genetic predisposition, skin irritants, allergies, the environment and stress. Eczema is not infectious or contagious.
“The rash may appear red, wet and weepy or dry, thickened and scaly. Scratching often aggravates the rash,” says Dr Pang Shiu Ming, Head and Senior Consultant, Department of Dermatology, Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
“The skin thickens and becomes darker after repeated scratching and rubbing. The rash can affect any part of the body, particularly the elbow bends, back of the knees and the neck.”
What are the different types of eczema?
1) Atopic eczema
This usually runs in families and is part of a group of inherited allergic conditions such as asthma and hay fever.

2) Seborrhoeic eczema
There are two types, one most commonly seen in babies and the second common in adults. Areas affected tend to be the oily parts of the body, such as the scalp, face, groin and chest. Seborrhoeic eczema is not normally itchy.
3) Discoid eczema
This condition is usually confined to the arms and legs. It consists of itchy, coin-shaped patches which may be weepy or scaly.
4) Varicose eczema
This is a condition of the legs, commonly found in the elderly and people with varicose veins.

5) Contact dermatitis
There are two types – irritant and allergic. Irritant contact dermatitis is caused by exposure to soaps, detergents and water. Allergic contact dermatitis is caused by sensitivity to materials like nickel, cement, rubber and hair dye.
Eczema tends to be recurrent with periods of flares and remissions. Topical steroid creams and moisturisers are the cornerstone of treatment for eczema. Attendance to aggravating factors is also important. This involves lifestyle changes.

Product : Sticker pad roller ... there are type for carpet.. i have used that for years and it is cheap and good.. there are lots of refiller at $2 each .. buy the ones that are specially for carpet.. to be used on fabric sofa and bed sheet for  quick fix..

2) prevent lizards coming in the house .. can't guarantee this works.. but i use it neverless after some research. those that are in the house have to be remove ...

i am using essential oil with water - Lavender and add a few drops of  dettol ( I do add some cleaner to clean the table top cleaning purpose too)  ... purchase those plant water spray from Daiso and mix all in the bottle.. spray around the parimeter of the house. ... internal to external area..

Cost $5-8?  = Lavender from Daiso at $2 , dettol in NTUC,

Ways to Burn Your Belly Fat Fast


 
One of the most common questions I get is how to lose belly fat. Belly fat is actually the most dangerous type of fat – besides aesthetics, large waist lines are indicators of –disease-disease-disease.
It takes more than just crunches! We start to gain weight in our midsection when our cortisol levels spike. Stress is one of the primary culprits for high levels of cortisol secretion. When this happens cortisol breaks downs lean muscle (the type of tissue that burns calories most efficiently) and also holds on to fat storage in the abdominal region. That stress can even get WORSE with bad dieting; studies show that the stress caused by dieting can increase cortisol levels, making no change in belly fat even with calorie restriction. So how do you shape up? Incorporate these 6 things below and you will be on your way to a flatter belly in no time flat!

1. Sleep
If you want to work late at night, think again. When your biorhythms are off, you end up eating more. When you’re tired you produce more ghrelin, which triggers cravings for sugar and other fat-building foods. Losing sleep can also alter your hormone production, affecting your cortisol levels that cause insulin sensitivity, prime reasons for belly fat! Getting about 7 hours of sleep a night is one of the best things you can do for your body shaping goals.

2. Short bursts of exercises
1000 crunches a night may get you strong abdominal muscles, but with a full layer of fat on top, you will not get the results you really want. Instead of all those crunches, do exercises that engage multiple muscle groups and work your cardiovascular system. Try planking, where you hold yourself in a push-up position, resting your forearms on the ground. Try 3 or 4 sets of holding for 30 seconds each. Getting up and moving throughout the day by going for walks will also help.

3. Sugar is your Enemy
Fighting belly fat is 80% healthy diet. Reduce calories by filling yourself up with protein, vegetables, whole grains, and replacing bad habit snacks with good ones. For example, if you have a sugar craving, replace your calorie laden latte with a Muscle Milk lite, one of my favorites, because it has zero sugar and a ton of protein that will satiate while also torching my sugar craving! Another great trick is a sprinkle of cinnamon in your morning coffee or oatmeal- the spice has been shown to help stabilize blood sugar. 4. Vitamin C
When you’re under extreme stress, you secret more cortisol hormone. Vitamin C helps balance the cortisol spikes that happen to you under this stress. Besides being a good way to counteract a cold, Vitamin C is also essential for making carnitine, a compound used by the body to turn fat into fuel, making this vitamin your fat burning friend.
If you’re going through an emotional crisis, stress from work, or a bad eating splurge, increase your vitamin C – it’ll help counteract the negative side effects. Try bell peppers, kale or kiwi fruits. These have even more Vitamin C than the famous Orange!

5. Eat Fat

Yup, you heard me! It takes fat to burn fat. Like I said above, it’s sugar that gets you fat, not fat. Good fats include foods rich in Omega 3′s, like salmon, avocados & walnuts. These foods are full of nutrients that help keep you satiated throughout the day.

6. Slowing down your breath
This is a very simple method that you can use even when you’re in the midst of doing something else. Whenever you notice you’re feeling tense and uptight check and see how you’re breathing. Most people under stress either alternate holding their breath with short breaths, or take rapid shallow breaths. After you become aware of your own breathing, consciously relax your belly and slow down the breathing. This works best if you focus on slowing down the exhalation rather than your inhalation. With each exhalation you can say to yourself “slow down”. That is all there is to it- Simple but surprisingly effective!!!

One of the biggest questions I get is "how do I lose my belly fat? I've tried several things but nothing worked". When I ask what you tried I hear 100 daily sit-ups, cutting calories drastically, excess cardio, fat burners, etc.
If you can't lose your belly fat, you're using the wrong approach. You don't need endless sit-ups, supplements, starving yourself or worse surgery. Here are the 10 best ways to lose your belly fat - quickly and naturally.

1. Stop Doing Crunches
. Crunches will strengthen your stomach muscles, but won't burn the belly fat that covers your abs. Spot reduction is a myth. You're wasting time & effort doing 200 daily crunches.
Crunches can also cause lower back pain, slouching shoulders & forward head posture. The Reverse Crunch doesn't cause these problems, but again: spot reduction is a myth. To lose your belly fat, you need more. Keep reading.

2. Get Stronger
. Strength training builds muscle mass, prevents muscle loss and helps fat loss. The Squat & Deadlift work best to build strength.
  • Your lower back keeps you upright from the back. Your abs from the front. Both muscles will work hard during heavy Squats & Deadlifts at keeping you from collapsing under the weight.
  • Squats & Deadlifts allow you to stress your body with heavy weights, working all your muscles from head to toe. This helps getting stronger quickly and building muscle fast, including ab muscles.

3. Eat Healthy.

No need to be perfect. Eating junk food actually helps fat loss by keeping your hormones sharp. Don't overdo it though. Eat junk food 10% of the time max. That's 4 junk meals/week if you eat 6 meals/day.

4. Limit Alcohol Consumption
. To lose your belly fat, what you drink is as important as what you eat. Alcohol from time to time is OK. But forget about losing your belly fat if you drink beer & sweet alcohols daily.
Beer drinkers always have a peer shape: belly fat & man boobs - especially as they get older. Alcohol also stresses your liver which has to overwork to clear the toxins. This can get in the way of building muscles.
Drink alcohol 10% of the time. Example Friday & Saturday night. Normal alcohol consumption, not the get drunk. Rest of the time: water, water with squeezed lemon, green tea, etc. Either that or forget about losing your belly fat.

5. Eat Less Carbs.
You need carbs for energy. Problem is that most people eat way more carbs than they need. Your body will stock the carbs it doesn't need as fat. And this is often how you get belly fat.
Unless you're a skinny guy who needs to gain weight, lower your carb intake. Keep eating fruits & veggies with each meal. But cut back on potatoes, pasta, rice, breads, ... Eat these post workout only.

6. Eat More
. Eating tons of healthy foods won't make you fat. Especially not if you exercise 2-3x/week. Starving yourself is the number 1 nutritional mistakes. Healthy nutrition is important for 3 reasons:
  • Energy. Food is energy. Your body uses food for weight lifting, working, digestion, etc. Lack of food means lack of energy, in all areas of life.
  • Fat Loss. Eating the right foods helps fat loss: protein has the highest thermic effect and satiates, healthy fats promote fat loss, ...
  • Maintain Muscle. If you starve yourself, your body will burn muscle for energy - NOT fat. You'll become skinny + fat.
Hunger means you're not eating enough. Don't worry about calories. Just eat breakfast and eat every 3 hours from there on, including post workout. Eat healthy foods 90% of the time to lose your belly fat fast.

7. Eat More Protein.
Protein has a higher thermic effect than other foods: your body burns more energy processing proteins than it does processing carbs and fat. That's why high protein diets work great at burning your belly fat.
How much protein do you need daily? Do like I do: eat whole protein with each meal without worrying about the numbers. Check the 10 cheapest sources of protein to keep it budget-friendly.

8. Eat More Fat.
Fat doesn't make you fat. Bad nutrition and lack of exercise do. Eating fat actually helps fat loss. Your body won't stock fat as easily if your give it a constant intake of healthy fats.
Fish oil is the best source of fat to lose your belly fat. Fish oil naturally increases testosterone levels and increases fat loss. 6g omega-3 per day is a good start. Check Carlson Fish Oil: 1600mg omega-3 per tbsp.
Stay away from trans-fatty fats present in products like margarine. Trans-fatty fats are bad for your health. Eat whole unprocessed foods 90% of the time as I recommend in point 3 and you'll avoid trans-fatty fats easily.

9. Lower Your Body Fat
. As a man, your belly is the last place where you'll get rid of fat. If you have man boobs and a double chin, you'll have to lower your body fat to lose your belly fat. Here's how:
  • Get Stronger. Strength training builds & maintains muscle, increases fat loss, helps sticking to diet, ... Check StrongLifts 5x5 if you don't know where to start: it only takes 3x45mins/week.
  • Eat Healthier. Apply the 8 nutrition rules. Eat breakfast. Eat every 3 hours. Proteins, veggies & fruits with each meal. Carbs post workout only. 2 cups of water with each meal. Whole foods 90% of the time.
  • Add Cardio. 15mins post workout, build up to 3x45mins/week. If you have less than 15% body fat, just get stronger and eat healthier. That will lower your body fat and make you lose your belly fat.

Looking at your belly or in the mirror gives you inaccurate feedback. What you see is influenced by food intake, water retention, light and your own perception. Self-image issues can make the last one tricky.
  • Measure Body Fat. Every 2 weeks using a fat caliper. It doesn't need to be accurate. What matters is that the trend goes down.
  • Measure Your Waist. Also every 2 weeks. If you get stronger and eat healthy, your waist will go down fast. Your pants will start to feel loose.
  • Take Pictures. Shoot pictures of yourself every 2 weeks: front, back & side. The side pictures will show the most change.
Success breeds success. Track progress accurately so you know where you are and stay motivated to keep working at losing your belly fat. Don't just read this post and go back to what you were doing. Take action. Lose your belly fat.
